If you live outside of the Ontario School District but want to join the EdFlexOregon community, you can do so through an Interdistrict Transfer. Because we are a district-operated school (not a charter), the process is straightforward and offers unique benefits for our students.
THE BIG DEALS: Why EdFlexOregon is Different
-
No "3% Cap" Denials: Unlike virtual charter schools, EdFlexOregon is a traditional public school program. This means your home district cannot deny your transfer based on the "3% virtual enrollment cap" that limits many other online options.
-
Play for Your Home Team: EdFlexOregon holds an Associate Membership with OSAA. Our students can enjoy our flexible virtual curriculum while remaining eligible to play sports or participate in activities (like band, choir, or drama) at their local resident school.

How to Transfer to EdFlexOregon
Step 1: The Spring Window
Most Oregon districts accept transfer requests between March and June for the following school year.
-
Pro Tip: Check your home district’s website today for their specific "Interdistrict Transfer" deadline
Step 2: Request a "Release"
You must first ask your current "home" district for a release.
-
Search your local district’s website for an "Interdistrict Transfer Out" or "Release Request" form.
-
Submit the form and wait for their approval. (If you are moving into a new area mid-year, you can usually request a "Continuation" or "Hardship" release immediately).
Step 3: Apply to EdFlexOregon
Once you have started the release process at home, submit your Transfer-In Request to us at https://tinyurl.com/5cm6b3jr
-
Attach your home district’s release paperwork if you have it yet.
Step 4: Final Approval & Enrollment
Once both school boards or superintendents approve the transfer, you’re officially part of the pack! You will receive a "Welcome" email from EdFlexOregon with a link to complete registration.
Step 5: Maintain Success
To keep your transfer active through graduation, students simply need to maintain Good Standing, which includes:
-
Consistent Engagement: Daily logins and progress in your online courses.
-
Attendance: Meeting the 92% attendance threshold required by Oregon law.
